Honey Rock Landing in Delta lost its entire cherry, peach and pear crop to a late spring freeze in 2026. The farm has been leaning into agritourism, which so-called “cave suites” and special events, as an additional revenue stream.

Located on 135 acres in the Dominguez Canyon Wilderness, Honey Rock Landing is a desert oasis and working farm that invites guests for overnight stays as well as special events, like harvest celebrations and wine pairing dinners. Immersing yourself in the landscape takes on new meaning at Honey Rock Landing, where this certified organic orchard and farm recently opened three luxury cave suites. The stays are all-inclusive, which means farm-fresh breakfasts and fresh-from-the-field lunches delivered to the cave, farm-to-table harvest celebration dinners under the stars, and also full access to the orchards and greenhouse. Days are spent rafting or canoeing on the Gunnison River, riding bikes through the peach orchards, or helping out on the farm. Seasonal u-pick vegetable days are favorites, as are the flower picking and bouquet making sessions. Cave guests can also take a bike ride around the farm before winding down for a movie night in the cave.

This spring, our growers faced one of the most devastating freezes Delta County, Colorado has seen in decades. While the crop was greatly impacted, their passion for farming never wavered.

Owner Colby Barrett — a geotechnical engineer who specializes in rock slide mitigation — leaned into the land’s natural contours, sculpting the rock into 400-square-foot suites, complete with private patios looking out at the orchards, copper soaking tubs, and walk-in showers lit by skylights.”
